AccuWeather Gets Even More Accu With Minute Forecasts
One of the most famous weather services has redesigned its app. AccuWeather looks more fashionable and more material now.
The app was updated on January 12th and received minor updates and bug fixes along with serious improvements. The interface of the app now looks totally up-to-date, with all today’s tendencies applying. It takes a split second for the app to load. Even slow Internet connection is enough to load the forecast in a moment. And yes, this is still a great app for discussing the weather. There are always videos with weather curiosities and oddities and an interactive map that shows animated weather dynamics for next 15 minutes.
Well, for most world’s cities and countries AccuWeather still has daily and hourly forecasts. But if you need a more precise prediction, you’ll have to make a leap of faith with a new feature. MinuteCast by AccuWeather tells the condition within next two hours, minute by minute. It displays whether it’s about to rain, or snow, or get sunny. This kind of forecast requires the most precision and responsibility, as it’s the easiest one to check.
As usually, this feature is available for certain locations only, like large or significant American, European, and Asian cities. For example, as we have briefly checked, MinuteCast works for NY, Paris, Ottawa, and Tokyo. But we checked as well Mexico City (Mexico), Kyiv (Ukraine), Canberra (Australia), Cairo (Egypt), and found MinuteCast unavailable there yet. Let’s hope the rest of the world is to be covered by MinuteCast in its time.
Not all changes are delighting users. Some complain about precipitation and temperature graphs that are not present in this version. Others have got used to old style and feel some discomfort from updated layouts. But these complaints seem minor and (we hope) the issues are to be fixed with the next update.
