Google Maps “Search Along Your Route” Feature Update

Google Maps “Search Along Your Route” Feature Update on The Apps Depot Blog

The feature of searching along the route in Google Maps have been available to the car drivers for quite some time, but as you have probably noticed, it didn’t work while riding a bike or simply walking. What is great is this feature is now available in the 9.26 version of Google Maps.

Small improvements for a more user-friendly experience

Regardless of what you’re searching for while biking or walking, you can now find things on your way thanks to the improved Google Maps. In addition to the mentioned feature, the application was enhanced with additional tweaks. The first one is the shortcut available in the overflow menu in Your Places, which allows you to change from work to home icon.

While these additional features are certainly not life-changing, they are quite useful

Previously, you had to dig deep into the details screen to change your map overview, which was not too convenient. The second addition is an opportunity to enable OK Google voice detection from the application.

It’s a useful feature as it allows you to quickly access voice commands while driving, which is a lot safer in comparison to tapping when you have to look at the road. Moreover, you can now choose to get updated information about your favorite places.

While these additional features are certainly not life-changing, they are quite useful and will improve your overall Google Maps experience.

Feel free to leave any questions and comments regarding the recent update.
